The graph below shows the number of complaints made about noise to Environmental Health authorities in the city of Newtown between 1980 and 1996.

The multiple line graph illustrates the overview of complaints about the noise in Newtown city to Environmental Health Authorities.

Although the quantity of complaints about noise in road works was highest, it dipped at a slow pace but significantly, bottoming out at around 70 in 1996 from a hefty 620 in 1980. In contrast, the amount of complaints about domestic noise was static at around 500 for the first 5 years, before a marginal decline of 100 in 1986. After a two-year plateau, the figure started to soar, hitting an all time high of 1200 in 1996.  Likewise, traffic noise experienced also the same changes with the gap of about 200, coming after domestic noise. Regarding factories, even though the number of complaints saw a gradual increase for the beginning, it remained nearly unchanged since 1986 until the end of the period.
