Overall, the subjects can be divided into two main groups: social and scientific studies.
To begin with, A total proportion of top 7 preferred subjects in Australia accounted for 37 %. The highest proportions of subjects were recorded for medicine (10%), history (8%) and sport science (8%) in this country. And the rest of subjects: law, engineering, languages and literature- each constituted less than 8 %.
With the regard to the top seven studies in the UK, it was 17 % higher than that of Australia. Whereas literature was mere 1% in Australia, it showed quite higher trend in the UK, making up11%. Media studies and sport science were 15% and 12% respectively. The remaining subjects-medicine, languages and engineering composed of less than 12% each.
The highest proportion of studies was engineering in France, making up 18 %, three times more than those of law, medicine and languages. The rest of subjects-literature, history and sport science, accounted for 4%, 2% and 0% respectively in this country.
